The Xbox 360 controller has become the de-facto controller for PC gaming over the years, and its successor, the Xbox One controller, has now finally received PC support.
Microsoft has released the official PC drivers for the controller, which will also make the Xbox One controller compatible with all the games that support the Xbox 360 controller.
The drivers will be included within a future Windows software update. If you’d rather not wait for that, Major Nelson has provided download links for the driver on his blog. Download them via these links for your respective operating system – x86 and x64.
Xbox One controller support for PC will only be wired via USB. Wireless connection is not supported for PC; not for now, anyway.
The Xbox One controller has widely been hailed as an improvement over the already excellent Xbox 360 controller. No official PC support is available for the PS4 controller; although third-party drivers are available.
