The Witcher 2 announced for the Xbox 360

While we were hoping for something more surprising, Polish developers CD Projekt Red have officially announced that their epic RPG The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be arriving on the Xbox 360 by the end of the year. Yes that’s right, just the Xbox 360 for now.

PS3 folks might have to wait a bit longer to experience the world of The Witcher that is if CD Projekt decides to go that way at all, which is a shame because The Witcher 2 is easily one of the best games of the year. It was painfully obvious that The Witcher 2 was designed with consoles in mind, however what really needs to be seen is how well CD Projekt’s engine scales on the older Xbox 360 hardware considering how it brought even the most sophisticated PCs to their knees. In other Witcher 2 news, patch 1.2 hits tomorrow with a bunch of fixes and some new content including a barbershop to customize Geralt’s hairstyle (bye-bye ponytail!). Now lets just hope Steam users don’t have to go through a massive 9GB download again. The game releases on the Xbox 360 in November this year, and unfortunately wont release in India like the recent Namco/Atari games like, Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Enslaved.
