US-based Aurora has over 1,000 developers registered for OpenFeint thanks in part to their policy to make game development completely free. As a result, over 100 games now support OpenFeint.
Adding to the competition though, is UK-based Chillingo’s recently-announced Crystal, a platform that the company dubs “the de-facto social gaming standard for iPhone and iPod Touch”, with player profiles, achievements, challenges, and social networking features, almost mirroring Microsoft’s offerings through Xbox LIVE.
