While gating a playable character to one particular platform isn’t new, this move has drawn a lot of criticism from gamers all over. Even in the Tweet itself, people have gone on about how anti-consumer this feels. And while we get that Spider-Man is now synonymous with PlayStation, it still feels like a dick move – especially for Xbox and PC gamers who were excited about the game.
If you’ve pre-ordered the game on the PS4, you’ll be able to access the closed beta this weekend. Other platform pre-orders will have to wait till the next weekend to tackle the beta, while the last week of August sees the beta opening up for all platforms.
