The Sony PlayStation VR headset (PS VR) is the only virtual reality headset available in India apart from HTC’s Vive. It was launched officially in India in March with a price-tag of Rs 41,990. Today Sony India has dropped the price by Rs 4,000 for a new retail cost of Rs 37,990.
On purchase inside the box, you get a PS VR headset, peripheral cables, demo disc and the PlayStation 4 camera which is needed for VR. Apart from dropping prices on the headset, the company has also dropped prices on various VR titles as well. These are as follows,
- Driveclub VR Rs. 1,999 (old price Rs. 2499)
- VR Worlds Rs. 1,999 (old price Rs. 2499)
- Eve Valkyrie Rs. 2,499 (old price Rs. 3999)
- Farpoint VR Rs. 1,999 (old price Rs. 3999)
- Farpoint VR + Aim controller bundle Rs. 3,999 (old price Rs. 5,990)
- Battlezone Rs. 2,499 (old price Rs. 3,999)
- RIGS Rs. 1,999 (old price Rs. 3,999)
- Robinson the Journey Rs. 2,499 (old price Rs. 2,999)
According to Sony India, these new prices will come into effect immediately with the pricing to be revised by e-retailers sooner rather than later.
