The Saboteur may not be at the top of most must-buy lists for the holiday season, but nevertheless, it’s yet another game crammed into a year-end release line-up that’s already more crowded than a Mumbai local at rush hour. Pandemic’s WWII sandbox action title is set for a December 4 release in Europe, which means we’ll get the game a few days later here in India.

The game’s interesting artistic design is what sets it apart from the rest, even winning it Best of E3 2009 for Artistic Design (Xbox 360) from IGN. Inspired by a true story, The Saboteur follows the exploits of race car driver Sean Devlin, who finds himself trapped in 1940s Paris, under siege by the Nazis. Working with the French resistance and British intelligence, he sets off on a one-man mission to undermine Nazi operations in the city.
The Saboteur also promises variety in gameplay, with lots of driving, a broad range of weapons and explosives, missions ranging from blowing up zeppelins to scaling Paris’ most famous landmarks, and, as the above image suggests, some recreational activities too. If all of this sounds interesting to you, mark your calendars for December 4.
The Saboteur is scheduled for release on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
