Updated: Microsoft announces Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition and Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition @Gamescom 2017

Update: The price of the Microsoft Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition is going to be $399 (around Rs. 25,500).

Microsoft announced the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition and Xbox One S Minecraft Edition limited run versions of their Xbox One X and Xbox One S platform at their official livestream @Gamescom 2017.

The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Limited Edition console is a limited run edition of the upcoming Xbox One X which pay’s homage to the console’s legacy. It features a limited “custom printed exterior” on the exterior with a “Project Scorpio Badge” on the console chassis and controller. The packaging is reminiscent of the original 2001 Xbox complete with the same green hue used across the board for all the detailing.

An unboxing was also arranged in conjunction with Lawrence “Larry” Hryb a.k.a Major Nelson which showed what all would be included in the package,

This special limited-edition run of the Xbox One X would cost $499 (~Rs 32,000) and is up for pre-order via Microsoft’s Store and website. Although Microsoft has not divulged any details regarding how many of these would be produced, the official trailer for the console briefly shows a code on the chassis of the device could imply it might have an extremely short, numbered production run.

Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition reveal

The second Limited Edition that Microsoft debuted on their livestream was the Xbox One S Minecraft Edition console which will be the regular Xbox One S console in a Minecraft theme. Microsoft had acquired Minecraft (and its developer Mojang) in 2014 from its creator, Markus “Notch” Persson.

The console comes with Minecraft’s major component blocks, Grass, Dirt and Redstone detailing and similarly themed controllers which you can see in the below trailer,

The console will be available from October 3 for $399 (~Rs 25,500).

Currently, it is not known if either console would be available in India (pre-order /back-order). This is primarily because the vanilla Xbox One S console which was released last year is yet to be available locally. Thanks @Gadgets 360.
