EA’s Hyderabad office has been hit by layoffs, following EA’s plans to terminate social games like The Sims Social, SimCity Social, and Pet Society this June. This unfortunate bit of news comes to us via a post made by an ex-employee on NASSCOM Gaming Forum’s Facebook page.
We’re not sure if EA Hyderabad was actively involved in the development of these games or if they played a more supportive role, but either way, the damage has been done, and it does suck hard for those who’ve lost their jobs. EA hasn’t commented on the matter so far, but if we do hear anything, we’ll keep you guys updated.
