Guerrilla Games has announced a September 17, 2013 release date for its portable shooter, Killzone: Mercenary.
Killzone: Mercenary is a PS Vita exclusive and will take place immediately after the first Killzone game. In it, you step into the boots of gun-for-hire, Arran Danner, a former UCA-soldier turned mercenary who’s all about the money, accepting contracts from both the ISA and the Helghast. The game will feature a total of nine missions, and each mission is roughly an hour in length, so you’re looking at a legit Killzone experience over here.
Single player missions once completed can be replayed to earn a better score, and eventually more funds. Besides a fleshed out campaign, the game will feature a full-fledged multiplayer mode spread across six maps and three different game modes, including fan favourite, Warzone. Like the campaign, performing well in multiplayer will net you more cash with which you’ll be able to purchase and upgrade your arsenal.
The game is being made using the very same engine Guerrilla used to craft the console versions, so it’s safe to say this may end up being the best looking Vita game till date. Don’t believe us? Check out the new gameplay trailer.
