IVG FIFA 09 League back in January, we’re back with season 2 for a last hurrah before the release of FIFA 10. Danny has rung in the changes, so rather than the 30-player league format of the first league, it’s going to be a Champions League-esque group format this time around.
We originally planned to run two parallel IVG FIFA 09 Leagues on Xbox LIVE and PSN, but it seems the Xbox 360 league may be delayed or cancelled. The PS3 league however, is very much on course to kick off on July 1. FIFA fever continues all month as IVG members battle through the group stages, followed by the knockout phase, and culminating with the finals on August 1.

Just as League 1, India’s best FIFA players will battle it out in IVG FIFA 09 League 2. Winner and top goal-scorer of League 1 – Utkarsh, will be back to defend his crown, while last time’s runner-up – Arjun, will look to go one better this time. Omar, who represented India at the FIFA Interactive World Cup, will also be one of the favourites to challenge for the crown now that his internet issues have been ironed out.
At the other end of the table, Dom will be back to ensure that no one else (in his group at least) ends IVG FIFA 09 League 2 without scoring any points. I’ll be hoping to follow up my mid-table finish last time by at least making it through the group stages, but it looks like an uphill task. Exact group compositions will be revealed soon, and at the time of writing, we still have one slot open in this 24-player tournament. If you want in, head over to the link below and let us know.
Stay up to date with all the progress, discussions, point tables, etc in our IVG FIFA 09 League 2 thread here. Just 3 days to go!
