The testing phase seems to be over, so now we finally, officially, have an Indian PlayStation Store (we have a press release to prove it). According to Atindriya Bose, country manager for Sony Computer Entertainment India, there were already “50,000 Indian users signed up to the network” even before the Indian Store was launched, which is quite impressive. Downloadable games for the PS3 and PSP start from Rs 225 and Rs 170 respectively.
PlayStation Plus is also available to Indian users at Rs 2,850 for the annual subscription, and Rs 885 for 90 days. Note that PlayStation Plus is not required for online gaming, which remains free. You can sign up for a PlayStation Network account either via playstation.com or from your PSP or PS3 itself.
