FIFA 10, the follow-up to one of the best football games to ever grace our consoles/PCs/handhelds/mobile devices finally gets a release date. EA Sports has just announced that FIFA 10 will hit stores on October 2 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PS2, PSP, PC, DS, and mobile devices. Going by past experiences, this means that Indian release will probably be sometime during the week that follows.

FIFA 09 was widely regarded as the series’ best game in years. It thoroughly outclassed the competition and even today continues its impressive showing on sales charts. There was speculation earlier that FIFA 10, along with another popular EA franchise – Need for Speed, would see an early September release. While that still seems a possibility for NFS, we’ll have to just wait a little longer for FIFA. And with Konami too looking to step up its game this year with Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, October can’t come soon enough.
