Crysis 3 to be released in 2013

EA has announced that the latest in Crytek’s Crysis first-person shooter franchise – Crysis 3, will be making its way to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in spring (March to May) 2013.

In this sequel, gamers will take on the role of Laurence “Prophet” Barnes, who returns to discover that the city of New York is enclosed within a Nanodome that has been built by the notorious Cell Corporation, and is now transformed into a dangerous rain forest.

The game has been described by the developers as a sandbox shooter and have promised that the game world would consist of “seven distinct and treacherous environments”. Early images also show Prophet sporting a futuristic bow, a first for the franchise.

Crytek also announced Crysis 3 Hunter Edition, which will give players early access to new signature bows and attachments for multiplayer game modes. The Hunter Nanosuit will also be available to them earlier. Those who pre-order will be automatically levelled up to Level 5 and would receive a unique bow skin along with three exclusive dog tags.

Here at IVG, we gave the Crysis 2 an impressive 8/10, while its predecessor Crysis: Warhead received 9/10.
