Your first look at Modern Warfare's high stakes story.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare received a story-driven, cinematic trailer at Sony’s State of Play event yesterday.

While no single-player footage was actually shown, we did get a glimpse at some of the locales you’ll visit, and the characters you’ll meet along your journey. Besides Captain Price, we saw a host of new characters in this soft reboot to 2007’s Modern Warfare.

Modern Warfare’s campaign may still be shrouded in secrecy, but Activision has already released two multiplayer betas over the past month. The second (public) beta even showcased the game’s Cross-Platform capabilities, allowing players from different platforms to play with or against one another.

In other Modern Warfare news, certain gameplay content will also be a timed exclusive to the PS4 platform as part of Activision’s exclusive partnership with Sony. While the Zombies mode has been a staple for the Treyarch developed games, Infinity Ward developed games have their own cooperative mode called Spec-Ops. And within Spec-Ops, a horde mode called Survival will be exclusive to Sony’s platform for a year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases October 25, 2019 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
