Blizzard has revealed a new Overwatch character and map under development at BlizzCon 2017

Overwatch has only gone from strength to strength since its release in the May of 2016. The class-based multiplayer shooter has kept a steady drip feed of content to consolidate and entice new players to enter its fold. Today at BlizzCon 2017, the company has revealed the latest addition to its roster of heroes in Overwatch, Moira.

A geneticist by profession, Moira O’Deorain used to be part of Overwatch’s covert operations group, Blackwatch before its disbandment. Now she has resurfaced and works for the shadowy terror cell Talon.

She falls under the Support category with her abilities primarily focussed on buffing allies and debuffing opponents. Some of her abilities can bypass shields and she has added mobility options in the form of a short teleport.

Apart from Moira, Blizzard teased a new map that is under development, the Blizzard World Map.

We should be seeing Moira join the roster of heroes shortly after spending an interim time in the PTR to tweak her capabilities depending on how players utilise her and their performance while playing as her. The map should follow ensuite as well.

Also, Blizzard also released a short animated story detailing the story of how Reinhardt came to joining Overwatch and where he gets his protectionist streak bound with his profound adherence to a code of honour.
