Following heavy criticism, EA has removed Battlefield: Aftershock from the Apple store.
The game was released for iOS devices earlier this month and was a free download. Touting only one map and four weapons, the game was heavily slammed by consumers leading to a mere 2.5 star rating. Players complained of issues such as bad controls and the inability to connect to matches easily, among others.
The publisher released the following statement with the removal of the app :
“EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come to expect from their favorite EA gaming brands. To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we’ve received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date.”
EA is set to release a more comprehensive take on Battlefield 3 for iOS devices later this year.
