Apple unveils iPhone 5

After numerous rumours and leaks, Apple finally unveiled the iPhone 5 at their exclusive event in San Francisco yesterday. At first glance, you’ll be forgiven for thinking this looks exactly like the 4S but Apple seems to have made subtle tweaks along the way. Most of them however have been met with scorn and mockery.

However from a gamer’s perspective, I’m keen on seeing what app developers can do with the extra horse-power (the iPhone 5 runs on a new A6 processor). Plus extra battery life should prove useful on those long journeys where you were otherwise forced to cut down on gaming time. I am disappointed however at the fact that the screen is only minutely bigger than the 4S.

The iPhone 5 is expected to release in nine countries by the 21st of this month. India (hopefully) and twenty other countries will be getting it sometime in October. iOS 6 on the other hand, will roll out on 19th September for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, 3GS, new iPad, iPad 2 and iPod touch.
