F1_2010_(video_game).jpg

Formula One 2010 is Codemasters' first next-generation F1 game, following their acquisition of the F1 license. Based on EGO Engine, it is due out in mid-2010.

Platform(s): PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

Publisher(s): Codemasters

Developer(s): Codemasters

Genres: Sports, Simulation, Driving/Racing

Themes : Motorsports

US Release: September, 2010

Overview:

F1 2010 was announced on April 23rd 2009 by Codemasters as the their first Next-gen (Coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC) Formula One release following their acquisition of the license which had previously been held by Sony, but allowed by them to lapse. This means F1 2010 will be the first Formula One game to grace the PLAYSTATION 3 since F1: Championship Edition - which is based on the 2006 season. Previously, Codemasters had announced that this game would be released in 2009 as F1 2009, but this was scrapped and F1 2009 is now a Wii and PSP release.

F1 2010 will feature the cars and circuits of the 2010 Formula One season and is expected to feature online multiplayer on all three platforms. Based on the EGO engine which has also powered previous Codemasters racing games such as Race Driver: GRID and Colin McRae: DiRT (As well as the physics of F1 2009), it is likely that F1 2010 will also feature one of Codemasters' signature Career Modes as F1 2009 has been confirmed to have such a feature and the slogan for F1 2010 right now is:

Be the Driver, Live the Life

Awesome news. :(

F1 Championship Edition on PS3 was the best F1 sim I have played till now , even better than Gran Prix 4 on PC.

Where can they improve ? :giggle: , I meant it had almost everything u can imagine in a F1 sim.

^^ the graphics need a massive improvement... that game was old and the graphics show in a lot of places but it was still a fun game to play

I hope they keep the same gameplay, improve the graphics, have a live season kinda thing like fifa does, improve damage physics and add flashbacks :giggle:

According to me graphics in F1 Championship Edition were excellent , it can't look any better than that atleast the car models , maybe the tracks can be more better like Gran Turismo quality.

Codemasters need to leave Grid and Dirt mechanics behind , and get to old school Toca and Colin Mcrae rally type mechanics with no flashbacks etc.. just pure racing, it ruins the sim aspect.

I still prefer Toca Race Driver 2 and 3 comapred to Grid and Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 compared to Dirt 1 and Dirt 2.

^^ yeah... the car models and all were fine but the tracks and all, you could tell that it's an older game if you've played any of the other next gen racing games. but, still I loved the game and played for quite a bit

btw, we did play one or two games online together didn't we ?

F1CE was at best an arcade game. It wasn't even close to a sim. Heck, GT5P's Ferrari F-2007 had better physics and simulation than F1CE, not to mention F1 2000 and GP Legends on the PC.

Frankly, i dont need a hardcore F1 sim, I want a fun F1 game which is what F1CE was. If Codies port the F1 system over to the GRID engine, I'll be a happy camper.

exactly what i would loathe at sight!

I was afraid after i knew they were using the EGO engine.....now am really scared after your comment!

i thought if there was one game that couldn't be made arcade and can only be made as a perfect sim.....then that was F1 motorsport!

I really would never get it , what's the use of releasing a game called F1 2010 when the season is close to its end.

Why can't they release the game alongside seasons start or delay it till 2011 season.

F1 Championship Edition was awesome :majesty: , best F1 game I have played ever , even better than classics like Grand Prix 4 and F1 2002 on PC, I hope this is at least on par to that one.
