Sikkim is amazing. Been there many times - but as a tourist. Have you seen real life problems that people face there? Living in mountainous regions has its own pretty big issues. And what will you do there? You may not be able to even WFM since electricity is still not dependable. What will you do when a landslide knocks off your town from the grid? I love it as a tourist but living there won't be easy. And saying Hanoi has worst AQI than India is same as pointing fingers to Pakistan. We need to reach China's level in development. Everything else is noise. The ecosystem in China is bonkers. It's elevated to a level where you can build anything within days - and unless people go and experience the difference, it's hard to really emphasize. For those saying Mera Bharat Mahaan, go to China's top 10 cities, spend some time going around places, using their public and private transport, look at how entire ecosystem works and compare with India.

I agree with most of what you said. But the last part is REALLY REALLY difficult unless most of India is brought out of "survival" mode. We have been classically a poor country post independence, with humongous population. Our mindset is not innovation or how to enjoy life, it's survival. And it's not even people's fault! Every year the government changes the definition of poverty and magically more people get out of poverty than ever before - but they are still struggling to make ends meet. Wages havent kept up with time. Inflation is actually in double digits but according to sarkar only 6-7%. To combat survival, we pay exorbitant taxes from 5-45%, and get nothing in return. We still pay for kids fee, insurance, medical etc etc. Essentially I and millions of other people like me are trying to fuel nations growth but the money is going in some corrupt guys coffers. This will not change, people can dream. That's the truth. Get out if you can. How do we fix our country? Fixing is tied to political leadership - which leader has EVER thought about India? AAP got f**ked, BJP scammed via electoral bonds and other means, INC has been looting us for decades. There are so many people who want to build for India but corruption still doesn't let them do it. For the dovy eyed folks, try getting a license for setting up a factory. Sheer number of licenses you'll need will drive you crazy. And the number of palms you've to grease will drive you bankrupt.
