The wait is almost over. Eleven days is all that stands between now and the arrival of Gran Turismo 5. We’ve got some very passionate Gran Turismo fans in the IVG community, and we’ve been at work together behind the scenes to bring you a countdown to one of the biggest game releases of this generation. Over the next ten days at the IVG forums, we will cover various aspects of Gran Turismo 5, from its cars and tracks to its creators and the many new features in the game, building up to its release on November 24.

We begin the countdown today with The History of Gran Turismo. Before talking about GT5, we thought it necessary to recount the journey to this point and look back at the humble beginnings of what is today PlayStation’s highest selling first-party franchise. Head over to the IVG forums to read about it, and be sure to check back over the next ten days as we try to cover every aspect (there really is a lot to cover) of Gran Turismo 5.
