Come September and the gaming industry gets as busy as the peak Delhi wedding season. It’s almost as if the stars align for all publishers, and they decide to starve gamers in the months leading up and then suddenly unleash this massive buffet of triple-A titles at us. It can get daunting in a situation like this to decide which game deserves your hard-earned money. Good thing, we’re here to scope it out, and give you a look at the games that we are looking forward to in the coming month. Here’s our list in no particular order.

eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020

Like every year it’s a cat and mouse chase between the releases of PES and FIFA games. But this time, as the name suggests, the ‘eFootball’ addition to the series’ title symbolises the game’s focus on PESLeague and eFootball Pro tournaments. There’s already a demo out, so you can see for yourself if this will be your football game of choice this year.

FIFA 20

Not to be outdone, FIFA 20 has some neat tricks up its sleeve as well. This year it features VOLTA Football for the first time, which focuses on small-sided street and futsal games. Remember the FIFA Street series? That’s what this is promised to be like.

Borderlands 3

We’re finally getting a legitimate sequel to Borderlands 2, and before you ask – no the Pre-Sequel doesn’t count. There’s a lot to unwrap when it comes to what’s new in the game, but one of the more interesting new features are new combat maneuvers and abilities, such as crouch-sliding, wall-mounting, and even a cover system. Gears 5

The Coalition proved they could take over the Gears franchise with Gears of War 4. This time, they’re looking to push the envelope with new game modes, a more ambitious level design and a female protagonist even. Oh, and this time it’s on Steam as well.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Done with Monster Hunter World? Then it’s a great time to take the next step into the ‘Master Rank’ with the Iceborne expansion. It picks up after the ending of Monster Hunter: World and pumps in new quests, monsters, weapons, armor, and story.

Contra: Rogue Corps

Contra has been a go to shoot everything that moves kind of game for generations. During times of detailed story lines and character development, Contra: Rogue Corps promises to keep things simple by giving you spectacular weapons and copious amounts of enemies to shoot at. We’ll know if that formula ages well this September.

NBA 2K20

It may seem like two football games are enough sports this month, but that’s not the case. Basketball fans have something to look forward to as well with NBA 2K20. New to the series are all twelve teams from the WNBA, adding a bit of gender balance to franchise.

Torchlight 2

Torchlight 2 has long been an amazing Diablo 3-esque action-RPG that was exclusive only to PC players. Not any more though. It’s coming to all home consoles in September including the Nintendo Switch.
