Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, one of the illustrious series’ most popular games, is getting a full remake, which is being made at Ubisoft India studios in Pune and Mumbai.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 21, 2021, and it also happens to be Ubisoft’s first ever remake. Strangely, the remake doesn’t appear to be launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, which will have launched by then.
The announcement came at Thursday night’s Ubisoft Forward event, but there were several rumours that some sort of Prince of Persia announcement would be made at the event. This will be the first console-PC release in the franchise since The Prince of Persia:The Forgotten Sands in 2010.
The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be, to the best of our knowledge, the first high-profile console and PC game to be entirely developed at Ubisoft India Studios. While much of the Just Dance games is developed in India, Ubisoft has always maintained that those games are a multi-studio effort. While the India Studios also collaborate on several other Ubisoft games, this is the first time that the India team has explicitly come out and talked about taking the lead on a project.
To reiterate, The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on January 21, 2021. Check out the game’s trailer below.
