Last night on their developer livestream, developer Treyarch unveiled their Zombies mode to the world for the first time.
For those who haven’t played a Treyarch game (like ever), Zombies is a cooperative game mode where you and three other friends survive hordes of zombies while scavenging for resources. This time’s Zombie mode looks like a reboot and here are some of the more important aspects that stood out to us.
Cold War Zombies will feature crossplay, which means you’ll have a bigger pool of players to play with. No matter what platform you choose, you’ll be able to play with players across all platforms namely PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
Black Ops: Cold War will feature progression across all modes – including Zombies. This means you’ll be able to take your favourite loadout from multiplayer into Zombies and then level it up further. You also will not start with just a pistol anymore; you’ll be able to take your kitted out assault rifle and start shooting the undead right off the bat.
Cold War Zombies will allow players to ex-filtrate at various points during their playthrough via chopper. However, doing this will make matters more hectic, as you’ll have to fight off even more undead while you wait for your ride to arrive.
Besides these points, you can expect some new and some old gameplay elements within this mode like the ability to craft and find better weapons, take advantage of field upgrades and perks and lots more. Zombies will launch along with Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War – when that hits shelves November 13,2020 for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
