Portal 2 PC release for India confirmed at Rs 699

There’s been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the PC release of Portal 2; whether it was releasing here; which distributor would be releasing it; what would pricing be. We can confirm that the PC version is releasing here via Valve’s Indian distributor WWCD ROM at an MRP of Rs 699. The game’s worldwide release is on April 21, but Indian PC gamers may have to wait a couple of days extra for it to hit shelves here. So around the 23rd would be a fair estimate.

Of course, the game is also releasing on PS3 and Xbox 360. The PS3 version will be available at Rs 2,499 and will see a timely release like most other EA PS3 releases. It will come with Steamworks integration and free access to the PC/Mac versions of Portal 2. The game also supports cross-platform multi-player and cross-platform chat across the PS3 and PC platforms. The Xbox 360 version doesn’t come with any of those extras, so Xbox owners will have to be content with just the game. As with recent EA Xbox 360 releases, we can estimate that Portal 2 will be priced at Rs 1,999, but we wouldn’t dare predict the release date.

Portal 2 is the follow up to 2007’s mind-bending cult phenomenon, and it’s Valve’s first full release since Left 4 Dead 2 in 2009.
