The game was slated for a November release, but Bethesda claims the game didn’t match up to their high standards, so they’ll be taking the additional months to polish the game up. The Invasion mode – a brand new game mode that allowed players to invade their friends’ game world as a demon will also not be available at launch. And finally, Doom 64 has been thrown in as a pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal on all platforms including PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
While it’s always great to see developers delay a game to make sure it’s of the highest quality, the delay may hit gamer’s wallets hard as the first quarter of 2020 is stacked with heavy hitters like The Last of Us 2, Dying Light 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel’s Avengers, Watch Dogs Legion and lots more.
