Sony closed out a day of E3 press conferences, and there was just enough firepower in there to keep everyone happy.
Entwined
After a couple of trailers for Destiny and The Order: 1886, Sony’s first stage demo was surprisingly for Entwined, a unique co-operative game from a young team comprised of fresh graduates. Even more surprisingly, the game is out now for PS4, with PS3 and PS Vita versions to come later with Cross-buy functionality. Trailer
Infamous: First Light
Next up was a trailer for Infamous: First Light, standalone DLC for Infamous: Second Son, where we get to play as Fetch, who was an NPC in the main game. First Light will release in August. Trailer
LittleBigPlanet 3
This was one of biggest surprises of the show, especially since developer Media Molecule had categorically said that it would not be showing anything at E3. And they didn’t lie either, because it appears LBP 3 is being developed by Sumo Digital. New in LBP3 is three new characters joining Sackboy, each with their own strengths and abilities. Sony also announced that the millions of community levels created for LBP and LBP2 would all be available in LBP3 with improved visuals. LittleBigPlanet 3 will release on PS4 this November. Trailer
Bloodborne
Earlier leaked as Project Beast, Bloodborne is an Action RPG from From Software. The game is being helmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, who was the director for Demons Souls and Dark Souls, and is headed exclusively to PS4 in 2015. Trailer
Far Cry 4
Far Cry 4 was first revealed at Ubisoft’s press conference, but it received a stunning gameplay debut at Sony’s presser complete with a rickshaw chase sequence, explosions and gunfire galore, killer elephants, and plenty of sitar music for good measure. Sony also announced an exclusive feature for the PS3 and PS4 versions, whereby you will be able invite players who don’t own a copy of the game. Demo
Dead Island 2
Dead Island 2 continued the series’ tradition of debuting through a slick CG trailer. Not much has been revealed about the game, although the trailer does appear to take place on LA’s Venice Beach. What we do know is that Dead Island 2 will get an exclusive month-long beta on PS4 and an exclusive character class. Trailer
The Last of Us Remastered
We already knew that The Last of Us is coming to the PS4, but we now know it’s coming to PS4 on 29th July. Trailer
Grim Fandango Remastered
Sony announced a new partnership with Disney, and through this partnership, it is working with Tim Schafer to remake his classic adventure game Grim Fandango with updated visuals for PS4 and PS Vita. Reveal
No Man’s Sky
Joe Danger creator Hello Games doesn’t cease to amaze with No Man’s Sky. The space exploration game floored the audience at Sony’s press conference with its immense scope. No Man’s Sky will release first on PS4 in 2015. Trailer
Let It Die
Like most Suda 51 games, it’s quite hard to describe Let It Die. All we can really say is that it appears to be a multi-player focussed game with a variety of weapons. The game is headed exclusively to PS4 in 2015. Trailer
Grand Theft Auto 5 for PS4
Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to PS4 (Xbox One and PC as well) and Sony revealed a new trailer that showcased just how much of a visual upgrade we can expect when it releases later this year. Trailer
Batman: Arkham Knight
Batman: Arkham Knight got its very first extended gameplay trailer at Sony’s presser, showcasing stunning visuals, silky smooth traversal, seamless switching to the Batmobile, driving gameplay, and even some vehicular combat. The trailer ended with the revelation of the game’s villain – Scarecrow. Sony then announced that the game’s Scarecrow nightmare missions will be exclusive to the PS4 version. Trailer
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
We always knew Uncharted would make an appearance and Naughty Dog’s latest is how Sony chose to close out the press conference. The trailer didn’t show much besides a close-up of Nathan Drake’s jaw-droppingly detailed face and an ominmous jungle setting. The game also got its official name – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – and it will release next year. Trailer
