343 Industries today announced Halo 5: Guardians, the franchise’s debut on Xbox One, with a release planned for fall 2015.
Microsoft had teased the game at E3 last year via a CGI trailer (watch below), but stopped short of giving it a title or any other details.
The developer says Halo 5: Guardians is “a bigger effort” than Halo 4. “That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine”.
The Halo television series, for which Microsoft is collaborating with Steven Spielberg, will also release in 2015, and while it will not be related to the game, it will complement it.
More on Halo 5: Guardians will be revealed at Microsoft’s E3 press conference on 9th June, and 343 promises that “fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store”.
