Swedish game development studio, Overkill has announced Payday 2, a sequel to 2011’s co-operative shooter, Payday: The Heist. Unlike the sequel that was exclusive to the PC and PS3, Payday 2 will be released on the PS3 (PSN), PC (Steam) and the Xbox 360 (Xbox Live).
Payday: The Heist was a four player co-operative shooter in the same vein as the Left 4 Dead series, only zombies were replaced by cops and sheer survival with bank heists. The game was amusing for a while when played co-operatively, but it seemed to lacked polish. Now that Overkill has been bought over by Starbreeze Studios (The Darkness), we’re really hoping this product benefits from the resources at hand. The game will be published by 505 Games and is expected to release sometime between June and September 2013.
