Uncharted 3’s multiplayer is now free to play

Like Killzone 3, the multiplayer aspect of Uncharted 3 is now free to play on PSN, allowing players to download and experience the multiplayer component of Nathan Drake’s latest adventure without paying a single rupee. After that, you can choose to purchase the multiplayer aspect, the co-operative aspect, or both if you so desire.

According to Game Informer, players can reach Level 15  free of cost, but will have to pay to progress beyond that.  After 15, you can still continue to play free of cost, but you will not earn any upgrades. They’ve also broke down the cost of the in-game micro-transactions:

“Players can pay to unlock higher tiers of levels (up to 25 for $4.99), or pay a larger fee to unlock play all the way to level cap ($19.99). In addition, while the free-to-play game initially includes only competitive play, you can pay to unlock other modes like cooperative adventure ($11.99) and arena play ($9.99).”

All of Uncharted 3’s DLC maps as well as weapon and character skins will also be available for purchase.
