Today during Comic-Con, Ubisoft announced a new set of stories from the Assassin's Creeduniverse called Assassin's Creed: Brahman. It'll be a graphic novel set in India, and will introduce a new assassin to the fold.

According to press materials Ubisoft sent out, Brahman will take place in 19th century India, "a land of mysterious golden palaces and cursed treasure chambers held in the iron grip of British colonial rule." The new assassin's name is Arbaaz Mir, fighting "a lifelong foe who has subjugated Mir's land and people."

Brahman will be written by Brenden Fletcher, with art by Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl. They're the same guys who worked on the pervious comics Assassin's Creed: The Fall andAssassin's Creed: The Chain, which introduced a character whose descendant Desmond tangled with in the modern-day parts of Assassins' Creed III. So, even though they aren't games, the stories in the Creed comics are still canonical.

waah? Could become a game sometime then..... Also LOL @ the name ... sup brah??

My god the level of ignorance in this topic.

BRAHMAN =/= BRAHMIN (the caste)

Brahman is a power or reality as conceived by various branches of philosophies from India.

It is supposed to be an unchanging reality beyond the human self and perception. The definition is quite vague and abstract but it in no way means the hindu caste section.

It is true that Brahman philosophy founds its ground essentially in hinduism but it is more an Indian concept than a hindu one.

Creators of assassin' creed may be many things (voracious milkers for one) but shoddy researchers of history they are not.

Guys just do a little google search before jumping both feet first and forming opinions.

Brahman as the name is in no way out of place as it describes an otherworldly, omniscient and imperceptible consciousness, a theme that is quite literally THE theme of Assassin's Creed the series.

Well the problem is how it is written

This is how the Hindi word written and how it should be written in English when referring to the caste. "Brahmin" itself is wrong.

ब्राह्मण

brāhmaṇa

What Ubi wants to say is Bahma which means "world".

ब्रम्ह

bramha

Or what you said ब्रह्मन्

Brahmin (caste), Brahman (omniscient, imperceptible reality) and Brahma (the creator, one of the brahma, vishnu, mahesh) are three distinct words with distinct meanings. Ubisoft went for the middle word.

Why is it that difficult to understand?

No point debating how certain words should be written as per individual discretion. Thats how the words have been used universally for decades and will be used in future. Go pick any angrezi matrimonial column and see how Brahmin is spelled.

For the foreigners it'll be like the "Brahmaa",Vishnu,Mahesh

For us it'll be pronounced as "Brahman",Kshatria,Shudraa

It should have been the former IMO
